James Harris is a seasoned political strategist with deep experience advising high-level elected officials at both the state and federal levels. Over the course of his career, he has played a key role in shaping policy and political strategy for U.S. Senator Josh Hawley, former Congressman Billy Long (MO-7), Congressman Eric Burlison (MO-7), Congressman Bob Onder (MO-3), former Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3), and Missouri Governor Mike Parson, among others. His extensive network spans numerous members of Congress and statewide officials, making him a trusted advisor in legislative and political circles.
James also served on the 2020 and 2024 Trump National Finance Committees.
James’s relationship with Congressman Billy Long is particularly notable. Long, a longtime champion for Missouri and a strong advocate for conservative policies, was nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service. James’s work with Long underscores his ability to navigate complex federal issues and advance impactful policy initiatives.
James previously served as Director of Boards and Commissions in the office of Missouri Governor Matt Blunt and was the first Chief of Staff to Congressman John Carter of Texas. He also played a pivotal role in Missouri’s redistricting process as part of the Missouri Senate’s redistricting staff.
A graduate of Saint Louis University, Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. His expertise in government affairs, strategic advising, and political operations continues to make him an influential figure in public policy.
